The Faithfulness of God

June 26, 2014

Life is full of uncertainty. But that's not always a bad thing. For instance, the unpredictability of sports is why masses of people watch. If the outcome was fixed, attention to the game would be much, much lower.

But oftentimes, uncertainty makes us uncomfortable. Like when our dreams don't work out like we imagined. Or when people we thought would always be there back away. Or the job we love ends. Even our favorite TV shows call it quits on us! Seems like we can't count on anything, except death and taxes.

A lack of certainty seems to be the norm for brand new churches. New churches often have to change locations. Equipment doesn't handle the rigors of set-up and tear-down. People float in and out.

But there is also excitement! There is a palpable sense that God could do something amazing at any moment - and we get to be a part of it.

In Galatians 3:15-22, we read that amidst the uncertainty of life, both the unsettling aspects and the exciting aspects, one thing can be counted on. And that's God. When God makes a promise, he always sees it through. It may take longer than we imagined (as I'm sure it seemed to the Jews it was taking forever for the promised "Messiah" to come), but He always fulfills what He says He will do.

So if you find yourself frustrated right now, feeling uncertain about a job, health, family situation, or whatever it might be, remember that God is faithful. He will see you through whatever you are facing.

We are on a mission to help people love like Jesus loved and live like Jesus lived.

It doesn't matter to us if you:

  • are a Wartburg student or a grandparent,
  • vote Democrat or Republican,
  • are married, divorced, or single,
  • have gone to church for years or haven't been to church in years,
  • make $100,000/yr. or wonder how you're going to pay rent this month,
  • or fear your past mistakes make you unlovable to God or others.

No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, we want to help you become who God has created you to be.
