The topic of gender has become a sticky issue in our culture today. Forty years ago, an overwhelming majority of people would have said there were only two genders - male and female. Nowadays, there are many genders recognized by various groups and individuals. The idea of gender is no longer binary. It's become much murkier.
Not only that, but when the idea of wives submitting to husbands comes up, many people in our American society find themselves highly offended.
And yet, in this first message of the "Battle of the Sexes" series, we tackle BOTH topics.
Yep, this seems like a no-win situation.
However, rather than be a trainwreck where people just yell at each other about how wrong they are, we take a look at the idea of gender and authority within relationships. And what we find is far more than a no-win situation.
So listen in and struggle with us as we walk through 1 Corinthians 11:2-3, figuring out how to best honor God through our understanding of gender and authority.
