God loves us passionately so why does Moses write harshly about God judgement?
God's anger is against sin. God loves humanity but it angers him to see his creation steeped in sin. If God was really mad at us and hated us, he would have never sent Jesus to die on a cross. To the contrary, it's his hatred of sin that caused him to send Jesus to free us from sin's grasp.
God is trying to contrast his immortality with our mortality. God wants us to realize that we have a birth date and a death date - He does not. He wants us to cause us to think about what were are doing with our finite amount of time between. He wants us to use that time to live for him.
