The high point of the Christian calendar is upon us! It began four days ago with Palm Sunday and finishes up this coming Sunday with Easter. To make the most of this weekend, we invite you to consider doing the following…
THURSDAY (Today)
- Read Matthew 26:1-29.
- Take communion with your family at the end of your supper time together, reading 1 Corinthians 11:23-26.
- Watch with your whole family Part 1 of this three-part video teaching series on Easter (7-minutes long / FREE RightNow Media subscription required).
- Listen to (and sing along with) Nothing But the Blood by Corey Voss.
- Invite someone to Sunday’s Easter Worship Gathering.
FRIDAY
- Read Matthew 26:30 – 27:66.
- Watch Part 2 of the three-part video teaching series on Easter (6-minutes long).
- Listen to a Good Friday playlist like this one on Spotify.
- Attend our Good Friday Worship Gathering at 7:00 pm at the Riverwood building.
- After communion at the Good Friday service, fast from food until breakfast on Sunday (if physically able).
SATURDAY
- Read Isaiah 53.
- Watch Part 3 of the three-part video teaching series on Easter (6-minutes long).
- Listen to Sins Are Stones by John Mark McMillan (with which we will have sung during communion at our Good Friday service).
- Text a reminder to anyone you invited to Sunday’s Worship Gathering to join you.
- Take a walk through your neighborhood, praying for this weekend to not just be a holiday weekend, but truly a Holy Weekend for your neighbors. Pray specifically for your neighbors to find and follow Jesus.
SUNDAY
- Join us for our Easter Worship Gathering at 9:00 or 10:30 am. If you have kids, know that we will have a staffed nursery, but we look forward to your preschoolers and elementary kids joining us for the celebration!
- Before you come Easter morning, listen to Resurrection Hope by Aaron Williams (which we’ll sing during our Easter Worship Gathering) to help prepare your heart to celebrate!
May this be a wonderful weekend filled with worship of the One who died and rose again! We look forward to see you tomorrow night at our Good Friday Gathering at 7:00 pm as we prayerfully reflect upon the tragedy of the cross.
