Holy Week Worship 2022

April 14, 2022

It's here: the most important week in the Christian calendar! While our culture tends to get more excited about Christmas, Easter is actually more important. Christmas celebrates Jesus' birth (which is a REALLY big deal!), but babies are born all the time. However, it is NOT common for someone to rise from the dead a couple days after they were brutally killed by governmental authorities. And not only is the resurrection of Jesus the greatest miracle the world has ever seen or ever will see, He predicted all of it!

That's why this Sunday we will be looking at the Easter story (which, I will admit, we talk about almost every Sunday!) as we finish up the book of Mark. To prepare you for our Resurrection celebration, here are some ideas for how to make this "Holy Week" weekend full of worship to draw your heart to God:

THURSDAY (Today)

FRIDAY

Holy Week Worship 2022 • Riverwood Church

SATURDAY

  • Read Isaiah 53.
  • Watch Part 3 of the three-part video teaching series on Easter (6-minutes long).
  • Send a reminder text to anyone you invited to Sunday's Worship Gathering to join you.
  • Take a walk through your neighborhood, praying for this weekend to not just be a holiday weekend, but truly a Holy Weekend for your neighbors. Pray specifically for your neighbors to find and follow Jesus.

SUNDAY

  • Come to Riverwood's Building at 2704 5th Ave NW to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! We'll start promptly at 9:30 am. And if you have kids, let them know they will be joining you in the celebration!
  • Before you come Easter morning, listen to "Glorious Day," (with which we'll close our Worship Gathering) to help prepare your heart to celebrate!

We are on a mission to help people love like Jesus loved and live like Jesus lived.

It doesn't matter to us if you:

  • are a Wartburg student or a grandparent,
  • vote Democrat or Republican,
  • are married, divorced, or single,
  • have gone to church for years or haven't been to church in years,
  • make $100,000/yr. or wonder how you're going to pay rent this month,
  • or fear your past mistakes make you unlovable to God or others.

No matter where you are in your spiritual journey, we want to help you become who God has created you to be.
