In Acts 12, we get a remarkable, almost unbelievable account of Peter’s escape from Herod and, ultimately, death.
Do we pray earnestly? Do we pray fervently/continually/intensely? Verse 5 talks about how the church’s earnest prayer was made to God on Peter’s behalf.
While this passage really build into a great sermon about earnest prayer or on how God can deliver you from addiction, problems, or out of a bad situation, Erin chooses to focus on a more difficult subject - James death while Peter gets to escape.
Why did God allow Peter to escape while James was killed by the sword? It points to God’s sovereignty in the end.
