Jesus-Centered Religion (Centered #8)

Sermon Synopsis

Colossians 2:16-23

Paul starts the passage in Colossians 2:16-23 by saying, "Do not let people judge you." By that, he is trying to say not to let people’s judgments/assumptions affect you.

The people in Colossians were under pressure to two different thought processes:

  1. Judaism - Food and drink, festivals, new moon, Sabbath
  2. Paganism - asceticism/self-centered humility, worship of angels, visions, puffed up by reason, and sensuous mind

In reference to the above points, Paul says, "These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.
