Obey simply means to listen and be spurred into action. No matter how much our parents, friends, and family loves us… God loves us more. If we can learn to obey imperfect parents, we can even better obey a perfect God.
When we obey our parents, it pleases the Lord.
As parents, we should not exasperate our children. This means that we are to be careful not to break their spirit. We want our parenting to point to Christ - not ourselves.
