Psalm 34 (Summer of Psalms #2)

Sermon Synopsis

When we follow Christ and we feel let down, what do we do? There are many many stories of people that felt like God wasn’t good after going through tough circumstances in life. So if we can “taste and see the that Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8), how do we explain the suffering and issues in life?

How we can read the bible:

  1. The lens of “Me & Now” - Our perspectives and interpretations lead to these false understandings and disappointment. We tend to look at the world through the mental lens of “Me & Now.” This causes disappointment when God doesn’t work in the way want him to at the very moment we desire.
  2. The lens of the Gospel - Psalm 34 is fulfilled by Jesus. Psalm 34:22 says that “The Lord redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.
